When An Artiste have Haters, Does that means he's finally Famous? (Yeah, more famous than you trashy news portal - jealous?)

Yes, I have finally arrived.

I thought my Best of 2014 Top Ten list was going to be the last blog entry for the year.

I was wrong.

I was googling online for my name "Kris Law" and discovered Kris Lawrence was the first name to appear instead - how come? I suspect it must be due to his unverified Wikipedia entry. So if you guys are searching specifically for ME - the REAL Kris Law: you need to type KRIS LAW BMW. Then you will get the top links that's really mine.

As I was scrolling down at my list of links, suddenly I discovered an article thrashing about me! When you have HATERS, does that mean you're finally FAMOUS? I discovered this hateful online article about me that was published THIS YEAR for a short film I did 2 years ago! If I'm such a terrible actor, then why BMW awarded me a Best Actor title? This bad article only means 3 things:
1) My performance is very memorable
2) My fame is seriously noticed
3) My value as an artiste increased

The writing on this article feels like it comes from a young, inexperienced writer. The website is not a reputable news website so be forewarned. Read about my "terrible acting" here:

http://buzz.viddsee.com/talent-house/

I'm no stranger to being the topic of trash talk. Local tabloids like KOSMO!, Harian Metro and The Star have written awful things about me before - but it was like circa 2009! I haven't received bad publicity since then, as far as I know of (maybe they have published without my knowledge, since most negative stories are like that)....until this article came along. You can say I have been generally been low key until 2010 when I starred in KFC World Cup TV commercial and of course 2012 when BMW Shorties announced me as their Best Actor contender.

As in life, we must accept the good with the bad. People who thinks I want to be famous is so wrong. You can keep the fame and give me the money. Reporters and editors of such trashy news websites have not even the basic common decency or even the respect for discriminated artiste like myself to even enquire about my current state. All they care about is generating hits for their news portals and making themselves feeling superior when they belittle my achievements. All I can say to this type of local news portal is keep on writing all the trash about me all you want to. You think little people like myself is an easy target because I tried harder than most? The truth is in Malaysia, discriminated actors like myself can never make a decent living. It's fine, I've accepted the fact and moved on. Go ahead and write all the thrash you wanted to.

I am Titanium and my face is thicker than your Iphone 6 Plus!

Best of 2014 - Top Ten Articles of the Year

I thought I always write crap - but my readers keep coming back again and again to read them. Thanks to all my readers here, my writing seems more valuable than ever!

In my head, I'm already in the year 2025. Again, I want to say "Thank You God!" that 2014 is ending. This is my second official listing of Top Ten articles in my blog. The first was here. This is really a nice way to end the year for me at least. I get to see where I've been and get a bird's eye view of my life for the year. There's a few "missing" articles in which I kept from being published due to its precious value and timing. Just be patient, maybe one day it will appear. This Top Ten listing also helps me to know what all my readers worldwide are really into - what kind of topics that interests them the most and which is not. Fot those of you with a discerning eye, you would notice that I've changed my header title by removing the word "Working" to "Discriminated". I feel this change should be done earlier when my blog was conceived and it's change is a more accurate reflection of my life and journey as an artiste right now.

Let's start from the bottom (click on the title to go to the article):

10) The Strand @ Kota Damansara Review

I haven't been to that shopping complex since I wrote a review on it. I'm sure much have changed. Sorry I wouldn't go all the way there to check out their festive displays due to the location. I'm sure my readers find this review helpful, or else it won't even make it into the Top Ten. All I can say is when you do get there, you must take a piss.

9) Asus Transformer Pad TF700 Review

I have to add a few "cons" about this product, since I've already am quite familiar with it by now. It HEATS UP most unexpectedly! I don't know whether it's my fault or the product's fault, a few times has happened when it feels so hot! I tried to remember to turn off the wi-fi connection when not in use. But just yesterday, everything was switched off, STILL it heats up. I could actually fry an egg on it. Thankfully, it still functions after I rebooted it. But downloading speed for this device is slower than a tortoise.

8) Year of the Horse Chinese New Year Display

Among the so many festive displays I've reviewed, this one managed to make it to the Top Ten. Is it because Chinese New Year displays are more creative than other festivities? Possibly. My readers love creativity and seeing all these beautiful Chinese New Year displays really inspire them.

7) Shopping for the Ultimate Messenger's Bag

What an adventure I've got for getting the "perfect" messenger bag. Of course I did not reveal the brand name of my bag. But it took me a lot of self-searching to feel the bag and gauge the way it moves around my body. This could very well be the catalyst to my fashion writing. This is another new category I'm into this year:

FASHION/ART:
Project Runway
Messenger Bags Special
Tips for Buying Shoes (Sneakers)
Stuff Magazine 9th Anniversary Party
Myanmar Art Review
Student Art Fair

6)  A City Guide's Comparison for Tourists: Chin Woo's Swimming Pool

Please support Chin Woo Association, specifically by swimming there. The extra one ringgit is nothing compared to the peace of mind you'll get. This place is still my choice for exercise due to the size and depth of the pool  - not too big until I get tired of swimming my laps and not too small either until I get bored. It's simply perfect size.

5) The Spendthrift's Tips - Spending for Value (Part 1)

I was very "poor" this year, still am actually. What to do when work is not given even when I have the capabilities and credentials to back me up (hence, the title change from "Working" to "Discriminated"?) So spending is also reduced drastically and am more critical of what to buy. I think I'm not the only ones here, and that's why this article proved to be quite popular with my readers. I hope it helped them in some way for savings and spending. The only new splurge I have for this year is fashion.

4) Permata Sports Complex Review - Penang Travel Series (Part 3)

Fill a need when there is one. No one actually cared to write a review on this place, and imagine the hits I've received! My readers love all the juicy and gossipy bits, I can tell. By all means, it's still a unique place to swim - if you can take in the huge size of the pool.

3) Cris vs Kris - The KFC World Cup Advertising Campaign

This happened only ONCE every 4 years. I don't know even I will be here the next World Cup. At least I got associated with this worldwide phenomenon in some way.

2) The Violent Nature of Malaysian Society

A society needs a commentary to write about them. To be a mirror to reflect the nature of where it is heading. Unfortunately, the truth isn't always pretty. Malaysians are descending into a place where the most common denominator becomes the most highly placed like race and religion.

And finally, the number ONE spot goes to.....

1) Social Bigotry at Kelana Jaya Swimming Pool

The reason so many readers related to this article is because of HONESTY. I can tell you right now that this incident at that place happened to many other swimmers too besides me, and I am the ONLY one who dared to tell it as it is - because it's the truth. That's why readers can relate to how I feel and treated. Being treated rudely and roughly is unacceptable especially in any establishment where you have to pay! The other places that rude treatments can be expected is Mamak restaurants, especially the ones near stations LRT Taman Bahagia and LRT Star Cahaya. The supervisors there are rude, not the waiters and servers - so aim your judgement only at the right assholes.

For example, I was at the Mamak restaurant nearby LRT Cahaya. I was waiting for my friend, so I told the waiter to wait for a while before I order. A few moments later, I heard loud banging of chairs behind me. Then comes the blady supervisor in his shirt and pants acting out his dissatisfaction by "arranging the chairs" into the tables, approached me to ask for my order again. Then he dared to say to me "no free waiting" in which I stood up and retorted "Hey, is this the way to talk to your customer?" I ate there before and swear never to go again. The only way to stop these rude treatments is to boycott these places - let them lose business. Any deragotary labels you have on this type of rude, macho bullshitters are totally deserving.

Bond 24's Title is SPECTRE - Great Things to Come!

Watch any James Bond movie and immediately you're transported to another world. The history of the franchise is so rich - almost any actors in the world would die to be part of it! Take for example the rumors swirling about the casting of the movie. I'm so glad the producers finally revealled the principal cast - and they're all amazing actors, especially the new actors being welomed into the Bond family.

1) Monica Belluci
She's the most underrated actress of all time. I've first seen her acting in Malena - in which she didn't talk much, but most of her expressions are pulled back with a lot of rich undercurrents. Then in Matrix Reloaded - her cool demeanour is used again in the scene where she exchanged a kiss with Neo was simply masterful. It must be great casting to have her - for she possesses all the classic Bond lady qualities - dark, mysterious eyes that breathes sexuality no word can describe. Her casting as the next Bond Girl would break all conventions being that a Bond Girl has to be of certain age bracket (25-40). Now anyone, regardless of her age can still be a Bond lady!

2) Christoph Waltz
This man has been working for 30 years in theatre, just only to break out into film when Quentin Tarantino brought him to international stardom in "Inglorious Basterds". His performance in that movie was superb in that he's able to combine refinement, class, humour and evil in such a delicious way that his Oscar win was truly deserving. I really admire this man for he's not your typical Hollywood hunk-sort, but an actor that looks very much like me - except I'm way younger than he is. If he turns out to be Blofeld in Spectre, I would definitely cheer for him!

3) Lea Seydoux
I first saw her in Mission Impoosible and almost gagged when she appeared in Blue is the Warmest Color. The lesbian sex scene was so real and raw, it really turns my eyes around and out. She's really a talented young actress in that she can act so tomboy-ish and yet still feminine. Great future ahead for her!

Other than that of course you have Daniel Craig as James Bond and director Sam Mendes helming the movie. This upcoming movie promises to deliver once again having all these wonderful and reputable actors. I certainly can't wait for Spectre to come out next year in theatres! Another wonderful ensemble by the producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, in which I'm certain will bring tremendous enjoyment and entertainment for James Bond's fans everywhere!

The Power of Joyful vs Joyless

This is the Christmas season and what better time to write about JOY! I was walking around the city area and encountered some parts of it that seems so dull and sad - meaning there's no Christmas displays whatsoever. Now is the time to spot which places are unfriendly and rude because it's so clear and distinctive due to the emptiness of any Christmas decorations. I have a foreign friend who came visit KL, and she agreed with me when I told her it's safer to visit only places with Christmas decorations. Like the vibrant shoppers traffic at colorful Pavillion and Lot 10. I believe people wants to experience joy in their lives - so it's only natural that they go to places that looks joyful. Outward appearances aside, joyful people also shares the same characteristics that lets them live life to the fullest.

The main reason why so many people are incapable of experiencing joy is because of incessant greed. Greed sets them down. People who are incapable of feeling true happiness is psychologically linked to their own obssessive compulsiveness that others are taking something away from them so they justifies that everything is their right. It's a form of paranoia that pulls its intended victims down - a complete opposite of joyful people which moves forward and upward. Malaysia is wrong when its ministers divide its people based on ethnicities- like race and religion. I know its your nature to discriminate - why not discriminate based on attitude (especially your own)? The correct yardstick in dividing this world of people is simply between those with joy and those without (the joyless).

Take me for example. I'm all about joy. In the face of intense discrimination, I find my joy always wins. Not many people can stand me. They are afraid by my expression of joy or are intimidated by it. But it's all their fault, not mine. Nobody causes their own misery and joylessness except their own discriminating ways. It takes a strong man and woman to handle me. No wonder this type of joyless incompetents are rude, uncouth and always using religion and race to broadcast their aggression. This type of people do exists, and they're living just next door to you. Racism is real and don't think just because you profess your beliefs in 1Malaysia, racism will cease to exist. I realized in the years of being an abandoned and discriminated artiste in Malaysia that there's a much more effective way in countering social discimination - simply be joyful.

Racists, you think you're more macho, shout through your lungs and people will be afraid of you? I pity you because you're only miserably joyless. Their own greed is already so ingrained into their pysche that no one can ever makes them joyful again - like a bottomless abyss. Don't even try to help extremists become joyful by watching their movies or buy products endorsed by them - you're only contributing more to their coffers of self-perpetuated grandeur and paranoia that other people are out to take from them due to the past - a joyless way to justify their greed. But what sets a true joyful person apart from them?

1) Joyful people spreads more joy
Joyful people don't discriminate you based on race, religion, sexuality, how you look or even financial and education background. They are simply happier people who smiles from the heart - simply because they don‘t discriminate! They see people around them as equal and treats them with dignity. Other people who are around joyful people will always feel joy themselves too if they're open to it. They also befriends people who experience joy like they do and stays away from those who are incapable of it. Joyful people are simple - direct opposite of joyless people who spreads hate, suspicion, blame and more complications. Joyful people knows when they spreads joy to others, they will receive joys in untold ways and value.

2) Joyful people are more successful
This is because they do what they love. They don't do it for the money. They have faith that their dreams will come through. They live day by day taking little steps in achieving their goals. Their goals are not demeaning anyone on their race, achieving financial targets or which contract to win but are more than their selfish ambitions. They want to make a dent in the universe. They want change that will enables everyone to experience joy based on equal human rights for everybody and through their work - whatever it may be. True success is not measured by how much you have or how high your position is over others - but by how much joy you feel. That's why not all rich and powerful people are happy. A person can be poor but still be rich because the quantity of joy he helped spread. I feel joy when I contributed my thoughts here for the benefits of my readers.

3) Joyful people spends more
They don't keep their money tightly but prefers to spend on things they believed in or have some deep unexplainable connection. Economy thrives on joyful people because what they spend is not based on greed and political connection. They spend because they believe in the potential of what could be - a better future for everyone, social justice, equal rights for all humanity. People without joy always dislike spending and prefers to stay at home. Joyless people are only out to get money, position, justifies their wrongdoing in the name of race and religion - or fantasizing and propagating about the afterlife like a prophet. These are the two extremes that joyless people are stuck in - money and religion. This type of joyless people wants everything for free, at a discount or some special price only for them. Joyful people don‘t care about discounts or the over-rationalization about their special rights and value for money - they simply spends.

4) Joyful people are stronger (lives longer)
They are unafraid of intimidation or threats of any kinds because they believe in themselves. They have the self-esteem that shows everything will be alright despite their current circumstances. They are not easily fooled by what their "leaders" propagated or shouted in the media. They are not paranoid about other races or blame others when they failed. They take full responsibilities for their own lives and lives independently from any influences of institunionalized religion and race-based politics. This is because joyful people knows anything that's institutionalised by law is only a way to make greed and corruption seem lawful and acceptable. Joyless people would constantly shouts and demands things be given to them. Joyful people are simply contented with the joy they have inside - not outside. And this joy is what makes them stronger.

5) Joyful people can live without
They don't need friends or relatives of the same race and religion to be around them all the time - they can choose to either live with or without them. Being alone is a choice and joyful people thrives in solidarity because they're more creative. They love themselves by giving time for their own personal growth. They can live without institutionalished racism, religion and discriminatory laws. They're not obssessive compulsive about anything or having someone all the time because they already knows they have God who is higher than themselves and will never abandons them. They know religion is a private matter and therefore practises it quietly without the urge of shouting or screaming down onto others. They know everything in this world is a temporary lie concocted by greedy men to fool them into fighting for their own selfishness - therefore REFUSE to be part of it. They prefer not to have any special privileges whatsoever because it always come with more responsibities and with strings attached.

Most importantly, joyful people lives on FREEWILL because nobody can take that away.
