Sakit tersentuh benda panas!

Nanti you pula kena tipu.

Close the computer!

Cuci muka guna sabun saje. Bersih. Jimat. Suci.
Semua faktor kena diambil kira (ceh, macam penyiasat Sherlock Holmes ya)

Kena faham dulu sebelum mendaftar

The last thing to buy before the year ends & the first tool you'll need to become a successful artiste

A stack of diaries over the years
The year 2010 is coming to an end in less than 2 weeks. Many of us had already got our presents for our loved ones for Christmas. But for some of us, there remains one more item that is THE most important tool to ensure the success of any aspiring artiste. Which tool do I mean?

What is a diary?
A diary is basically a day to day journal where you can jot whatever notes and appointments you plan to have on any particular day of the year. Even before I became a working artiste, I already have a diary to keep me on my toes on what I should do for any particular day.

Why does an artiste needs a diary?
As they say, time is money. We all get older, whether we like it or not. The life of an artiste is even more important, because your looks change overtime. A diary truly helps me to discipline myself to fill up the pages. If you're starting out to become an artiste, a diary will make sure you take action to find auditions or appointments to meet with certain production companies or casting agencies. The key word here is DISCIPLINE. Aspiring artistes really need to discipline themselves to keep track of their day-to-day activities, so they may arrive at the desired stage of their journey as an artiste.

Many bookshops in KL
Where to buy a diary?
There are many places you can get a diary. There are many bookstores around KL like Pustaka Minerva and Pustaka Mukmin which offers a range of affordable diaries. Their diaries prices range from RM6 to RM20. In more higher prices range, you can always go to Kinokuniya at KLCC. The prices there range from RM7 up to RM70.

Diaries galore
How to choose a diary
Depending the sort of person you are, you can find many types of diaries  to suit your preference. Basically, there are 3 criteria to look for when deciding to purchase a diary.

1) Colour Coordination
Many people choose colours that are safe - like black or brown. My advice is to look for colours that goes opposite to where you place it, for example your bag or purse. If your bag has a black colour in its interior skin, then choose a bright colored diary cover like red or orange. The reason is because you may then able to search for your diary in an instant. Remember your bag may contain many other items like your clothes or papers and other miscellaneous stuff you keep in it. An opposite color diary to your bag's interior is key in helping you spot and grab your diary immediately when you need to jot down an important date instantly.

2) Size
When you're out looking for a diary, choose a medium-sized diary, preferably as big as the palm of your hand. If you go for diary that is smaller than that, then you might have trouble writing important notes and dates on the pages. Now, be cautious of diary size that is bigger than the size of your hand, because then the weight might discourage you from carrying it with you all the time. A diary should be a tool you carry with you everyday, at all times. So make sure the size is appropriate to your suitability when travel.

Just enough features per page
3) Pagination Features
Personally for me, I prefer to have a page dedicated to a day, as opposed to 2 days squeezed into a page. Because you'll never know you might have a lot of things to take note in that particular day, so a full page per day is advisable. The other pagination feature you should look for is how easy for you to turn to a particular date or month, if you have advance appointments you wish to record. Look for coloured bookmarks for each month. Again this is a matter of personal preference.

Get a diary to get ahead
With all these pointers to keep in mind, it's really time you go out and get yourself a diary. Don't wait until the month comes to an end, because by then, the selection of diaries may be limited, and you're forced to get the one you may not like. Hopefully when you purchased the one that suited you best, you will then be able to start jotting down all the important dates and appointments. A diary is best to keep you motivated to plan ahead first. It's also a record you can look back to evaluate your progress for that particular year after it ended. I wish all my followers here many successes in the coming 2011 endeavors and may your diary be filled up with all the exciting dates and auditions to help you achieve your dream in becoming an artiste! Be sure to make a date to enrol in our Artiste Training Course (1-on-1 coaching). Through this course, you'll be able to:
* PLAN ahead more efficiently, PRIORITIZE appointments accordingly and learn TIME MANAGEMENT skills. Besides that,
* you'll also be trained in managing callbacks from agents,
* do follow-up calls the professional way (PRESENTATION & VOICE TRAINING) and
* setting up meetings so you'll get more audition invitations in the future.

My new year resolution for 2011 - "Take things lightly and have a laugh!"

Yes, girls and boys. It's going to be 2011. I still remember when the clock turn midnight and it was year 2000. What a historic day that was. The Millenium Bug. The end of X-Files the series, Friends the sitcom, The Sopranos. Kakiseni website shutdown after more than 10 years online (all aspiring talents will miss this website for sure). Some religious zealots proclaiming the world was going to end. And Blink 186! My all time favourite punk rock band! Notice all their music videos. They're all really hillarious and funny! Sort of like my resolution for this new year 2011.

A decade has come and gone in the blink of an eye
Looking back the decade gone by (2000-2010) it was a period of struggling for me. It was also a time when I made so many mistakes! But there were good things too. It was also the decade where I started becoming an artiste, dabbling in acting and modelling. It was tough! Dealing and mingling with our local drama production people. And the pay! Huhuhu...let's not even go there! But now I can proudly say I have a list of acting credentials to my name. And not to mention finally one big brand commercial where I'm the main star (none of those feature extras or supporting poofs, which I've had my fair share and I said enough!)

This world is a rock show!
So much unnecessary heartaches, headaches and emotional tumbles. And all for what? You really learned that life is a series of mis-mashed mishaps and sudden fortunes. Sometimes you go up, sometimes you go down. Really no point in chasing after and feeling down over anything at all. Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be. As i get older, I appreciate even more the time I have. I'm just thankful I can walk, talk, eat and sleep like a normal functioning human being. Money and fame? That's just some carrots dangled by some giant corporations to some unsuspecting donkeys like us. In the end, the carrots aren't worth that much. Better still, give away all that money that is tying you down by investing in Artiste Training Course or hiring a life coach that helps you. Crazy but it works (click video below)

It's all small things.
What's more important to me at least, is peace within myself. Able to face myself and the world everyday with the courage and confidence to tell people off when they're being unfair or unkind. Our world need more people like that - the courageous and confident type. Courage to be who you are, no matter how "awkward" or "abnormal" it may seem (as long as it doesn't hurt other people) and confidence in yourself to pick yourself up everytime you fall (because you will). So take things lightly and have a laugh!

It's the festival of lights, and it's not even Deepavali. It's Christmas! A study of window display and the effectiveness in its presentation styles.

Large Christmas tree at Fahrenheit
It's that time of the year again. My senses are being bombarded uncontrollably by these huge "balls of lights" flashing at me endlessly. No, we're not at a club or disco. Just stroll around Kuala Lumpur, and you'll be wrapped in the aura of so much eye-catching displays. Some displays are just plain old recycled concept that is the same year in, year out. But there are quite a number of new interesting displays which caught my attention immediately! Here I would like to share with my followers all these beautiful window dressings, some tries harder, others simply hit it with a bullseye.

Giant grand tree made of glass and music
Fahrenheit is a new fashion mall. They've just opened this year with Uniqlo as the main tenant. I saw their huge billboard advertising their Japan imported jeans at only RM49.90. The giant Christmas tree display is all glass crystalline, with tinges of blue and silver. Notice the arch gate that resembles the musical notes you'll see on any music sheets. Quite a good effort for this new mall's first Christmas display.

Notice the many sharp points, good or bad?
Hard and steely, sharp and poking (ouch...)
Next, we visit the array of fashion retail stores at The Pavillion. For this display, the use of silvery cube in the triangular shape to resemble a christmas tree is quite unique. It lends the air of simplicity, but personally to me, it's a bit heavy in its overall feel. The reflections on the cone-shape Christmas tree doesn't infuse any merriment but seek to simply fill in the spaces between the mannequins. The colours black and grey are dominant in this display with tinges of blue, yellow and maroon. Not much colour choice in terms of clothes but this is Christmas, and we want merriment don't we? The good thing about this display is its strong shape.

I see STARS....but not so much the clothes

Too much explosion that drowns?
Moving forward and I see some pretty fiery colours. The background for this dressing is more focused in the explosion-like star-shaped diamond to resemble the christmas star. Does the background enhance the clothes on display? Tricky here, looking from afar, the clothes seem to "drown" in the extreme intensity of the background images. Perhaps the noise level from the background should go down a few volume. Still a good effort in voicing the display theme.

Lots of element to solidify a Christmas fantasy (Part 1)

Christmas Fantasy - a strong voice at last...
Finally, I've found one of the best displays yet in actually having a voice. The rich details of this piece of display work is highly commendable. You can see the half-moon and feel the snowy floor. The crystalline branches which extends to infuse the feeling of a cold forest. Whimsical ballerina dresses and the clothes are almost dream-like. The mannequins play the part of the prince and princess. You can almost "see" a story in here. The juxtaposition and placement of clothes (which is the only product they should be selling) with the display elements are inventive and thoughtful.
Enchanting background that barely matches the clothes

This display is from the same store. Notice the unicorn and swan. I suppose the theme for this dressing is Christmas Fantasy. The only element "out-of-sorts" from this display is the mannequin's clothes. How I wish the clothes were more "richer" in details to compliment the background theme, which in itself already conveys so much fantasy, you wish the clothes were more "exciting" and as rich as the background elements. At some instances, the background element such as the swan took my attention, and I totally forgot about the clothes.

Pump up the greeting, centralize the product
For this display, the glass itself is the decoration piece. I assume they know the importance to showcase the clothes more than the elements, as opposed to letting the elements dominate the whole idea. Here, you get to see the clothes, and not so much the idea of "christmas" which is everywhere. No doubt there are words plastered across the glass, but its function more as a general greeting. The clothes still remain the central idea.

Luxurious and simple
Some displays don't even showcase the clothes! The concept itself is being highlighted. Much like this fashion brand here. The black background accentuates the gold frames, where each has a specific key chain of sorts. This display is extremely eye-catching, and the feelings of luxury and light playfulness are evoked, This luxury fashion brand again strengthens its position and further magnifies its aura of simple yet effective communication of exclusivity and sophistication. Lovely to watch, but not many wallets can accommodate.

Sell the clothes, soften the "noise"
And finally, you have a display where the background truly accentuates the clothes they are selling. This is one of the only display I discovered with the most varied colors on the clothes they sell. The background is kept to just enough to bring out the colors. (notice the hanging stringed background as opposed to the giant fully covered ups) They're smart enough to make the background "boring" - the colors being mainly black and white. An effective window display in attracting buyers to the clothes. In terms of speaking what the fashion brand is about, other displays previously mentioned has done a much better job than this one.
